4/17 Environment, environment, environment.

And more changes to the room, Megan Noble (my very awesome Swiss Army knife) and myself spent the day attacking it.

Giant task list definitely falls under best idea I've had recently. Pushing to Gold (final milestone), art lock down Wednesday night. Game submittal Thursday night. Just keep swimming!

Work from 4/16

Megan Noble and myself made a lot of changes in game.

Using giant paper as a task list, striking them out one by one = awesome.

What does an art producer do?

...artist wrangle mostly! And the rest of it is cleaning up oodles of odds and ends.

Today I've flipped the normals on a cart (please turn back face culling, flipped normals are silly).

Spent an hour this morning making an unwrap to match the flat texture--the model wasn't sealed and had some pieces of "surprise" geometry. It's interesting matching an unwrap to a texture rather than texturing an unwrap. The numeric lock with be rather small on the screen, so it just needs to read at contrast. But, beggars can't be choosers and I'm glad for how much art Unforgotten has gotten from different artists.

And zero'ing out transforms, some other engines I've worked with eliminate all the extra data off the batch but, the iteration of the Zero Engine we're working with is FBX2010 and has trouble with transforms. I made the above image as a tutorial of sorts for my devs. The more I can delegate to others the better, especially at this point!

Two weeks until gold for both of my games, just a bit further to charge!

V1 Nano-fish for Fragment

Currently in Fragment; our collectable set is a screw. The artist side had the desire to make something cuter and nano-fish came of this. Model off of concept by the ever awesome Amanda Lien. (Model roughed out this morning, will toss this to my concept artist for crit, update and then texture.)

“Cats always know whether people like or dislike them. They do not always care enough to do anything about it.”

These guys will get line art over them. One of my black cat Obsidian and one of my maine coon, Paris. As part of the set I'm doing for GAT399, a class I'm TA'ing for. It's nice to just indulge in oil paint. Odd to not tie myself to still lifes or painting models. But, good to just explore shapes and play with color.

This is layer two of the above, it has figured out where it's going.

Layer one is slightly less certain! I really adore pinks, my cat Paris has a super cute pink nose.
