22/30 Snow day inside
Evening classes got canceled due to threatening looking snow flurries. Ah, Redmond...
Cats were impressed when it started falling, but now they have returned to indifferent/indignant.

19/30 We can chase those dragons together.
I went to a game night, which was a lot fun. I like how soft Lupin's features are. Hard to capture, fun to play with line.
I was asked to draw a robotic teapot. Having a pencil in your hand means people will make odd requests at times, but this seems to entertain them.

18/30 Catbeast
My angry cat was glaring at me from his perch. Gouche on watercolor paper. Colors were what amused me, values were what I tried to stay true to. The colors makes me think of this children's book I loved as a kid. All I can remember is the girl wanted a tiger not a cat and all the tigers/cats were very bright colors.

17/30 Figure Drawn
Yesterday was my first real nonstarter. I got caught up in meetings and projects. I did do organization of art for my website/created thumbs and other such nonsense. I will have to redouble my efforts another day. Today I did the base drawing for a painting. 2ish hours in class. It was odd, it's been too long since I've really done life drawing. Refreshing to attack it again!

Three quarters of the way through another experiment.
Pros:
*Artists have more head space, they can plan to get everything done around their classes and the rest of their life.
*Planning is less whiplash for me.
Cons:
*Things get adjusted midsprint, as we realize what is and isn't needed. This is bad. But, we at this point have the overall Waterfall figured out for the rest of the semester, so things shouldn't change.
*More constant contact is required.
I've been trying to meet up with or email two artists a day. This week I'm going to try and check in with all of my artists twice (outside of our artist meeting and other subteam meetings).

13/30 Paint a little more and a little more
Pushed the flowers so they almost started going somewhere. Realized my problem was I didn't have proper distance when painting, so it was harder to glaze. Felt kind of ditsy for just not realizing why my in class stuff (always standing, always have distance) and at home stuff (sitting down/whatever) are so different. But, lesson learned!
12/30 Doodling on
Sitting in a lecture by Jim McCarthy, was very neat. Sketching out of the side of my eye while listening.

11/30 Start of something
Will work on this more later. Was a bit out of it, white roses that I was staring at. Oil paint on canvas.

9/30 & 10/30
Yesterday was an super busy day... So, two things today! First thing a sketch of a kitchen, I was doing an estimate on how long it would take to model a kitchen for a Digipen student. I estimated 16 hrs for model block-in with unwrap & flat texture. (Strong BFA seniors would take 6. Juniors would take 13-18hrs.)
And then I was in a leads meeting for an hour. Sketching happened.

8/30 Starts on this and that
Spent 8/11 working on paintings for my backgrounds class. Also did blocking on a quadruped for my animation class (but I'll get that one up when it's further along). I have to paint these guys and take them somewhere interesting.

Five of Thirty - Alien spud
Starting painting a potato and then only focused on the bits and colors I found interesting. Gouache on canvas something I never ever do. I like gouache, but I always use watercolor paper. It was somehow bizarre to put it to a canvas board, the water didn't absorb like I'm used to. But, interesting!

3/30 - Things and stuff?
Eeeh, had oil painting class today. This still life was done in an hour and a half. Wasn't quite in my zone, but tomorrow is another day.

1/30 - First of November and the first day of Create Art Everyday Month.
First day of create art everyday month! I did a bit of this and that art for school but nothing I took to finish. This on the other hand was just play. Started writing out my thoughts on my alignment . I am practicing "to accept myself". Which is interesting. I am frequently confident in who I am and what I know, but I sometimes let my use of my skills get redirected. Like if someone discourages me from doing something I would be good at because they see it as frivolous I often get demotivated. Instead of wondering what's wrong with them! After that introspection I used my prismacolor markers. Then I decided I wanted to use some white paint for the spade. I only had a tube of oil paint in white on hand. Then I decided I wanted to play with gouache. Next time I should use paper meant for paint!
It was grounding.
