The Evolution of Cindy

If I had an 80s theme song it would be Cindy Lauper's "Girls just wanna have fun" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OTtelwOgscM

After googling Cindy Lauper images I started roughing out different concepts until I found one that amused me.

That one was sketched when I got trapped in a programming lecture (I have no idea what mewtex is).

Then I tried to make her fluffier and more of an 80s cartoon (Gem has been truly inspirational).

Then on Halloween when my team got together and jammed on the game, I did a quick sheet to model off of.

Then I did threw out a quick model of her for engine proof (2-3 hours on this I think).

She is about 1200 tris. I saw some game models by Joshua Jones (another junior) and was inspired to sharpen my edge flow. More to come on her.

and more robots

This was the more finalized version of the two. We wanted one melee and one range. I'm not sure about the colors yet, I did a less saturated version but I kinda like the pop of these two. We'll see if I regret it in the light of day. On the UFO there is a little wind up, I think I should make it bigger. Mr. Clawhands will have a wind up on his back. Different enemies will be powered by different things, these being wind up powered. Our hero is from the 80s and uses steam.

Just some different thumbs I did for Steamyard, the game I'm working on right now. I did 20 pages of thumbs in my sketchbook, 10 bots a page. I cleaned some of these guys up so they can be used in the presentation.
